Mission Statement and Agenda
Balt-Military-Expo has been organised since 1998, with eleven editions completed to date. The 12th edition will take place in 2012.
The aim of the BALT-MILITARY-EXPO Baltic Military Fair is to present cutting-edge weaponry, equipment and accessories based on the latest technological solutions to serve defence, security, safety and emergency rescue at sea and on the coast, to the Polish Navy and other types of forces, and to the services of the Ministry of Interior and Administration. BME focuses on the military issues of naval defence and security, the defence and security of sea borders, and rescue issues. BME is dedicated to the Polish Navy, Special Operations Command, the Inspectorate for Armed Forces Support, Border Guard, Police and State Fire Service. BALT-MILITARY-EXPO also plays a significant role as a platform for meetings and the exchange of views between defence technology providers and its users: the executive staff and officer corps of the Polish Army, as well as the services subject to Poland’s Ministry of Interior and Administration. BME is accompanied by equipment presentations and rescue demonstrations, which have not only a professional but also an educational dimension through promoting among the public the work of the services responsible for safety and security, popularising defence issues and knowledge about Poland’s membership in the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. BME is organised in partnership with the Polish Army, the Ministry of the Economy, the services subject to the Ministry of Interior and Administration and the Polish Chamber of National Defence Manufacturers. Balt-Military-Expo is an event of established international renown and the only trade show in Poland dedicated to the technology and equipment needs of the Polish Navy. BME’s exhibitors include such international corporations as: ATLAS ELEKTRONIK GmbH, DCNS, FLIR SYSTEMS Ltd, KONGSBERG, RAM-SYSTEM GmbH, SAAB S.A., RAYTHEON, THALES and the entire Polish military industry, including: BUMAR, CENTRUM TECHNIKI MORSKIEJ, MORATEX, POLSKIE ZAKŁADY LOTNICZE, PRZEMYSŁOWY INSTYTUT TELEKOMUNIKACJI and STOCZNIA PÓŁNOCNA.
BME’s guests have included successive Ministers of National Defence, Commanders-in-Chief of the Polish Navy, Ministry of National Defence department directors, officers of the General Staff, representatives of the Ministry of Interior and Administration, the BBN Bureau of National Security, the Border Guard HQ, the Police HQ and the State Fire Service HQ. Every year BME is visited by a delegation of military attachés accredited in Poland and by a large contingent of guests from abroad, who represent military formations and arms producers. The 12th BALT-MILITARY-EXPO Baltic Military Fair will take place in June 27-29, 2012.
As in previous years BME will provide an abundance of accompanying events: shows, presentations and conferences. In partnership with the Polish Navy, we will continue a conference series on maritime security and military technologies. As organisers, we will hold presentations at the exhibition venue, i.e. military shows to illustrate one of the aspects of our forces’ participation in peace and stability missions. For the general public, we will organise shows to present Polish Army special units, counter-terrorist units and rescue services in action.
