Admiral Tomasz MATHEA Foreword
Admiral Tomasz MATHEA Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Navy
The Polish Navy is in currently implementing its 2009 – 2018 upgrade programme. The ever increasing importance of maritime transport and economy requires us to apply the latest technological solutions in this process, in order to enable the Navy forces to be effective in performing their tasks of protecting Poland’s interests at sea.
Therefore, the upgrade programme should become an inspiration to the shipbuilding industry, manufacturers of arms and ship equipment, science institutes, universities and R&D centres to look for the best solutions that can be used across a broad spectrum of sea-based actions both today and in the future. The BALT MILITARY EXPO Baltic Military Fair has for many years been a professional forum for the exchange of views and experience on maritime technology. At the same time, it provides special support in our efforts to modernise the Polish Navy fleet. The BME subject matter and the attendance of many organisations from the armaments and maritime industry allow us to find out and, most importantly, analyse the latest products offered and delivered by the BME Exhibitors.
I wish the Organisers, Exhibitors and all the Visitors to the 12th Baltic Military Fair the fulfilment of their expectations and encourage you all to join in the discussion on the technical development of the Polish Navy.
Admiral Tomasz MATHEA
